Album Advert Research

Album adverts within NME magazine all had their own individual concepts however all were very similar in their layout and the image choice depending on the type of band. Bands that were more abstract and favoured by one choice of social group or age such as Foals and Eight legs had more adstarct adverts, very brightly coloured, the image was not of the band.

Where was other artists such as Marina and the Diamonds and Plan B's adverts, the images were of them, had a very basic colour scheme and were visually less abstract to represent their music. I think Pink's advert would look very similar to those of Marina and the Diamonds and Plan B's as her music isnt just liked by one main social group or age just like Marina and the Diamonds and Plan B.

All the adverts were the same image and layout of their album that they were advertising. The artists name was at the top of the advert. The fouls advert/album cover its filled by the image, where as Plan B's album cover is only partially covered by the image of him at the theatre in the centre. marina and the Diamonds image also covers the whole of the album/advert.
